Final Year Project
30min podcast on Welby-Altidor_Ideation Design Your Life podcast
My thoughts on project
I was confused with the podcst at first but after following on my team and diligently cooperate with the instructions given to me. I just realized that the only enemy is myself with overthinking.
At the end of the day, I managed to complete the assignment
My 3 Key Contributions
1. Transcription
My video is like 1h10min+ long, one of the longest compared to the rest of the team. So, it is actually quite hectic for me to transcribe every word the interviewer has said and transcribe it word by word into a table format for different interviewer.
There is also a need for chaptering, so I have to find a perfect timeframe to highlight every moment in different color and then submit into the Google Drive document.
I also managed to carefully transcribe the audio in sync with the speaker accurately.
2. Audio processing
1. Chaptering different content with marker
3. Adding plug-in effects to ensure there is clean audio processing.
5. I used Adobe AI podcast to for extra security in audio processing
7. Checking of levelling to ensure LUFS doesn't go beyond -18LUFS and maximum true peak above -1dBTP
9. Upload the work into different categories for easier navigation of work
2. Seperating the different chapter timeframe and combine altogether
4. Added Intro/Outro (with CTA) with the audio only track and monitored the LUFS level.
6. Extra dynamic processing plug-ins effect to avoid weird distortion noise from AI
8. Export with standard file naming convention + wav format
10. The team's completed work ready for assessment by client
3. Report writing
I step up to help with my FYP team to note down what
1. Timeline and Progresses
.2. Brief Synopsis
3. Project deliverables
I even have to remind my teammates to remember to finish their SCORM package with its reflection or we might not be able to complete the submission on time. WIth the help of my teammates, we were able to clarify with one another on what needs to be done.
3 Learning outcome + Their Impact
1. Speaking up
I was hesitant to interact with my teammates at first when we started the project because I don't really understand the client's needs and I had different visualization of idea compared to my teammates. So, it was really difficult for me to communicate my idea and voice out my question to my peers for the fear of doubt.
But after a while, I feel comfortable to open up and try to voice out more of the task at hand and clarify important discussion which I used to have mental block of.
2. Time management
Because other than FYP we also had to manage other modules deliverables submission which really take a toll on my mental energy. There were many submission that needed all my effort and energy but because the deadline was all close together. I had to learn about time management
I plan which module submission I should focus on doing first based on urgency and importance. There was one time I accidentally focus on my other module final CA first which was due on Thursday, and I finished it early and submitted on Tuesday but then I realized that the submission for FYP is due tomorrow which I needed time to check which left me disappointed for not checking the task deadline properly.
Thus, I learnt to double check and manage my task priorities well so that I don't mentally burn out focusing the wrong time on wrong task.
3. Personal Pressure
I learnt that I must step out of my comfort zone sometimes and learn to fail.
Learning to fail is improvement.
I can't really give 100% and expect to know all the answer or know what others are thinking through one discussion.
I learn to face the social pressure for the more important thing like getting task done and proper.
I might not have an outstanding work but at least there were efforts and progress to get it done.
That's why I rather start the task with flaw so that at least my teammates working with me can point it out and I can improve.
